One of Yorkshire’s most successful businessmen is giving a free talk to young business owners to inspire them to greater success.
Tony Hodges launched his firm AHC in 1996 advising companies how to communicate financial information to staff.
He now employs 75 people in the UK, U.S. and Australia and turns over around £7 million every year.
But the self-made businessman, based in Wakefield, started out with no experience or backing – learning some difficult lessons along the way.
He said that many young professionals who start business also lack the expertise needed to help them grow.
Tony said: ‘When I started out there was no help or support and I had to learn the lessons along the way. Like most people, I’ve made mistakes and had to learn from them.
‘But now I’m in a position where I can share some of the things that I’ve learned on that journey.
‘People don’t tell you the basics when you start out. And often they’re the most important things.
‘For a lot of people, like me, who don’t come from a business background, there’s nobody there to help them.
‘I hope that by talking to young business owners I can offer them some guidance in the right direction.’
Tony regularly travels the world for business and gives talks young entrepreneurs who dream of success.
He will be giving his talk at County Hall, Matlock an event held on Wednesday October 10th 7pm.
Organiser Terry Eckersley said: ‘ Tony is a dear friend and exceptional Entrepreneurial business leader and philanthropist. He speaks clearly, motivationally & shares great keys and insights to success. ‘ We look forward to welcoming you, your friend and teams ‘
Tony’s most recent project, City Visions, was launched in 2015. It looks at ways to encourage ministry and spirituality in a cutting edge corporate workplace.
He established City Vision in 2015 to encourage a revolution in marketplace ministry and foster its role in city transformation.
Tony was converted 40 years ago while reading Mere Christianity by C S Lewis and is increasingly being asked to speak to young entrepreneurs about how his faith affects his approach to commercial life.
